It’s been a while since my last blog, I’m sorry! The last month of school has been busy, but now that finals are over I’ll have much more time to blog! So I’ll tell you what I’ve been up to lately!
This month I volunteered at my school’s annual event called seniors night. Seniors night is a night full of dancing, music, performances, and of course..food! I volunteered as a server and so I served the meals and danced with the seniors. Some of the seniors were even asking when next year’s was going to be! It was a great night and I’m looking forward to next year!
This past weekend was the Regina Humane Society’s first annual Beach Blast! Beach Blast is a special adoption event where the featured animals only have a $50 adoption fee. There are also tons of games, face painting, and bouncy houses for the kids! I ran the Treat Toss game. The kids would get four dog bones and they would have to try to throw the bone into the dog bowl that had healthy food for a dog to eat, then they would get a prize. It was a successful day and all of the animals got adopted!
The day after the Beach Blast the Humane Society had the 22nd annual Dog Jog. At the Dog Jog hundreds of people and their dogs gather and go for a walk around Wascana Lake! After they’ve gone around the lake there is a BBQ, prizes, and contests. I handed out free bandanas to all the puppies. The dogs that were rescued from the shelter got a special bandanna to tie around their neck. I’ve never seen so many dogs in one place! It was a really fun day and the Humane Society raised a lot of money to support the animals at the shelter.
There’s only 16 more days until Toronto! I can’t believe it’s almost here already! I’m so excited and I can’t wait to meet all the girls!
